The FLYL kindergarten program is designed to introduce the basic fundamentals of the game of lacrosse while maximizing player enthusiasm for the sport. The program is low-key with a focus on athletic development and enjoyment of the game. The boys will engage in skill building and small-sided games.

The fifth grade boys FLYL program is designed around continuing to build on the fundamentals of the game while offering the opportunity for boys to experience travel lacrosse and play against youth teams from neighboring towns. Team members are expected to make the commitment of 2 weekly practices and a game day each week. An effort will be made to have games scheduled during practice time slots. We also hope to participate in one or two tournaments.

The 6th grade boys FLYL program will focus on the development of lacrosse fundamentals and skills. The commitment and level of competition will increase from years past. Game like situations will look more like a high school competition with long poles, man up/man down, etc. Coaches will hold high expectations as they continue to build skills, field sense and competitiveness in their players.

This will be a modified game schedule (weekend games only) and limited practice times (once a week) due to the boys’ involvement in school athletics. The 7th/8th grade program is designed to build on skills and fundamentals by introducing offensive and defensive strategies and plays. Our goal is for all players to have fun, develop as lacrosse players and athletes and learn what it means to be a part of a team.
PRACTICES: TBD, 1-2 Day a week
SEASON: April through June 6th.
GAMES: ONLY WEEKEND GAMES. 7/8 games and a few tournaments. Planning on working around modified schedule for the boys. ALL SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Adult coach members will receive an e-mail after completing the join/renew process for their USLacrosse membership. This e-mail contains a link to complete the free national background screening through NCSI. This link is unique to each coach member and should not be shared and given to any other individual. Coach members will have 10 calendar days to initiate the background screening upon joining or renewing membership. The following items will be needed: government issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.); list of addresses lived over the past five years; your social security number. A typical screening takes 2-3 business days, although some can take up to 10 days.
If you have a current USLacrosse membership, but an expired background check you will need to follow the instructions below:

Scroll down on the BG Check Page and select "Start BG Check"
You will need one of the following Government-issued Photo (Driver's License, Passport, etc.); list of addresses lived over the past 5 years; Social Security number; you will also need your USL membership number as part of this process.

Our kindergarten grade program is designed to introduce the game of lacrosse and teach the fundamentals, while striving to maximize player enthusiasm and a love for the sport. The commitment is minimal, but the experience is priceless. Kindergarten players will not be participating in games or mini-jam events as they are not ready at this age to be in games with other towns. This season we will focus on the basics of the game and having FUN!!

The program is designed to improve player development and seeks to instill confidence, sportsmanship, as well as enjoyment and respect for the game of lacrosse. The fourth-grade program will include home and away games against neighboring youth programs. The general understanding is that kids are still trying different sports, however practice and game participation is expected. The number of teams will depend upon the number of girls that register.

Eye Guards - 2021 US Lacrosse has new guidelines for complaint Eye Guards. All FLYL players MUST have NOCSAE approved Eye Guards. Sticks - We have found having the appropriate stick is essential in the development of our young players. We strongly recommend all players purchase and play with a stick that has current technology, with a ready to play optimal pocket for quick release and easy catching capabilities.
Mouth-guards - Approved mouthguard are required for all games and practices.
Goalie Chest Protectors- 2021 US Lacrosse has new guidelines for complaint Girls Goalie Chest Protectors. All FLYL girls goalies MUST have NOCSAE approved Chest Protectors (FLYL will have one chest protector per team equipment bag, but if your daughter has ambition to play goalie, we do recommend that you purchase one specifically for your daughter).
Uniforms - All Players will receive a practice pinnie at the first practice.

The 5th grade program is designed to continue to build on the fundamentals of the game while offering the opportunity for girls to experience travel lacrosse and play against youth teams from neighboring towns. Team members are expected to make the commitment of 2 weekly practices and a game day each week. Games will be scheduled during practice/game times on a best-efforts basis. We also hope to participate in one or two tournaments. Coaches will hold high expectations as they continue to build skills, field sense and competitiveness in their players. The number of teams will depend upon the number of girls that register.

The 7th & 8th grade program will be a travel team program. We are anticipating numbers to support two teams, Black and Red team. All of the girls participating will be asked to make a COMMITMENT to their team and make EVERY game and practice except for family or school conflicts. All players practice together on Friday nights, games will take place on Saturdays and a few Sundays. ALL PLAYERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PLAY FOR THEIR SCHOOL TEAMS AS WELL.
